Legend says that in Mulbagal, the Kshetra palaka lord Hanuman temple was installed by Arjuna. After the Mahabharata war he came to know the power of the lord Hanuman on the flag which was tied to his chariot during the war. Later Arjuna went on a pilgrimage along with the Hanuman flag. On the way he installed the power of Hanuman on the flag in the form of idol in Mulbagal which was later known as 'Shathaka vatpuri'.

There is a Yoga Narasimha temple near the vridavan of His holiness Sri Sripadarajaru. Here the Narasimha image is said to have drawn by Guru Akshobhyatheertharu using 'Angara' (the vertical black line worn on forehead daily) on a stone. Later it became 'Swayambhuvu'.
