'Brahmanipura' is a small village which is 5km from Chennapatna main road near Mysore, Karnataka state. This Hanuman temple is located near a big banyan tree in that village. This idol is having 'Sikha'( a knot on the upper back portion of head) indicationg the avatara of 'Madhwa' and holding the 'Saugandhika' flower with hand which indicates the avatara of 'Bheema'. Hence this deity is known as 'Avatratraya Anjaneya swamy'.
Sri Purushottama teertha, Guru of Sri Vyasaraja was performing his morning rituals in a cave which is 3km from Abburu near Chennapatna town. Then he was daily going to 'Kamba Narasimha Temple' carrying water from the cave. He worshipped the Lord 'Kamba Narasimha'(Narasimha inside a pillar) near Abburu. Later his disciple Sri Brahmanya teertha also going to the 'Kamba Narasimha Temple' to worship the Lord. He thought that it was a long distance from the cave to that temple and the water gets impured on the way. He started bringing water from the village which is very near to that temple. From then onwards the village is known as 'Brahmanipura'. In that village, while cleaning a place he found the Avataratraya Hanuman idol which is very attractive. Afterwards this idol was installed by the three Saints Sri Brahmanya teertha, Sri Vyasaraja and Sri Sreepadaraja.
