'Ghatikachala' is a hill near Sholingur in the Vellore district of Tamil Nadu, India. There is an ancient temple of Lord Narasimha.
This hill is known as 'Kadigachalam'. Kadigai means a period of Time in ancient Tamil language. Lord Yoga Narasimha Swamy temple is located on the top of the hill Ghatikachala and another of Shri Yoga Anjaneyar Swamy. Both the temples are located on two hillocks.Sholinghur is also known as Tirukkadikai and Cholasimhapura. It is one of the 108 Divya Desams in Hinduism. 

It is said that  the King of North Madurai, Indrathyumn killed the demon Nikumba and saved the people and country. Pleased with this, Indra presented him 'Vajrayudham' (weapon of Indra) by Devendra. Lord Narasimha asked Hanuman to help the king. After the demon was killed, Hanuman was asked to stay on that hill in yoga nidra posture and bless his devotees. There is a well named 'Brahma theertham' with water rich in minerals that cure many diseases.

Here,  'Hanuma Jayanthi' festival is celebrated in a very grand manner. Large number of devotees visit the Anjaneya Temple during this occasion. Here, Lord Hanuman in Yoga Mudra is facing the west, where Lord Yoga Narasimha temple is located.


Legend


Lord Narasimha was very ferocious after killing the demon Hiranyakashipu. Prahlada prayed Him with much devotion. Then Lord Narasimha blessed with His pleasant appearance. Here, Prahlada worshipped Yoga Narasimha for one Kadigai in Bigger hillock named Yoga Nilai. Kadigai is the word of a very ancient Tamil language native to southern part of India, So, the place is also called as "Kadikasalam".


Sacred sevas, Thirumanjanam are performed for Lord Yoga Anjaneya on all Sundays as the demon was killed on a Sunday. Sri Bhaktavatsala Perumal, Periyapiratiyar and Bhoomi piratiyar deities are found in Bhoga form in the foot of the hill (Malai Adivaram). There are separate temple sannidhis for Andal, Garuda Vahana Varadharaja Perumal, Thottacharyaar, Erumbiyapa and Alwars 


Special pujas are conducted to Sri Perumal (Thakkan) of the temple. Special Puja toThayaar Amritha Valli on every Friday are performed.
