'Muddenahalli' is a village in Chennagiri taluk of Davanagere district in Karnataka. It is very famous for Veeranjeneya temple. This temple is quite old and is largely built of mud and sand. There is a Bhootanath temple and Navagraha temple within the temple campus. It is believed that the idol of HANUMAN here is installed by SHRI MUDGALA Rishi. This temple is also believed to be frequently visited by many great saints. Today lot of people visit this place to get rid of their problems in life. This was also called as " MUDGALA RISHI ASHRAM " in olden days.

Centuries ago this place a forest with lots of wild animals. There used to be hunters hunting the animals here for food. On one such occasion, a hunter was chasing a deer and he failed to kill it. After a long chase behind the deer, he came to a place where he saw a big idol of LORD HANUMAN and the deer had disappeared. He started worshipping that idol with great devotion along with many others. Soon, people started feeling happy in that place and more settlement started happening. People started agriculture largely and gave up hunting.


There is a grand festival that will be celebrated on the day of SREE RAMA NAVAMI. The festival will last for five days and people will visit this place for celebration from many corners of India. There will be procession of LORD HANUMAN with colorful decoration and devotees are served with food offerings through the five days. Devotees from all over India are visiting this place for the grace of LORD HANUMAN.
