'Holekatte Sri Mukhyapranadevaru' temple is located on the banks of the river 'Arkaavati' in Kanakapura taluk, Ramanagara district, Karnataka state. This holy place is also known as 'Jagruta sthala' in kannada language. This idol is one among the 732 Hanuman idols installed by Sri Vyasaajaru approximately 500 years back.

Here, this deity is also called as 'Sopaanakatte Anjaneyaswamy, by the devotees. It is said to have installed by Sri Vyasarajaru in 1500, Shalivahana Shaka 1422,in the year of Raudranama samvatsara. This magnificent idol is 7 and 1/2 ft tall having impressions of Shankha(conch), chakra , 'Saugandhika' flowers around the waist, urdhwa pundra(tilak worn on the forehead) and a bell in the tail same as all other idols installed by Sri Vyasarajaru, great Saint. One can notice the very finely sculpted finger nails in this idol.

It is said that only a stone-built 'mantapa' was present around the idol  at the time of Sri Vyasarajaru. Later on 250 years back the sanctum sanctorum was constructed around the idol.

This historically famous very old temple was renovated by the temple Dharmadarshi mandali with the inspiration of His Holiness108 Sri 'Vidyavachaspati teertha' sreepadangalavaru. This whole temple was built within a short period of 98 days.Swamiji came to this Holekatte Anjaneya tample and stayed here for a night after taking the Sanyasa deeksha from his guru His Holiness 108 Sri Vidyapayonidhi teertharu.
