KARANJI HANUMAN is a self-evolved (Swayambhu) idol which is about 18 foot tall. This Idol is present in the southern part of Bengaluru traditional place, Basavanagudi. This idol is evolved from a single black stone naturally. The idol is facing north

One could imagine Lord Hanuman in Ramayan after returning from Lanka with the ring that he got from Sita for Lord Rama. The idol has natural formations that makes one feel that Hanuman has just returned from Lanka with the chains tied to his hands and legs when captured by Ravana.

This idol is believed to be many centuries old and was existing in the current form even when KempeGowda discovered and developed Bengaluru. KempeGowda took a special interest in the development of a temple around this idol which is existing today.

Everyday hundreds of devotees visit this temple to get their prayers answered. There are many devotees who have experienced some miracles after visiting this temple. Pooja in this temple is performed everyday as per Vykhanasa Agama Shastra. This is a temple which is definitely worth visiting when you are in Bengaluru.
