There is a temple on Hunsur main road in Mysore district. This temple is about 700 years old. There is an idol of Hanuman which was installed by Sage Vyasaraja about 400 years ago. There is a bell tied to the end of Hanuman's tail. Hanuman is having Saugandhika pushpa on one hand and is facing west.
There is an old marble idol of Lord Ram, Lordess Sita and Hanuman in a small temple next to this Hanuman idol. The temple gets its name Bilirama from the idols being in white marble. This Bilirama temple is believed to be about 700 to 750 yrs old. Next to this Bilirama temple is a small temple of Ganapathy which is believed to be about 60 yrs old.
It is believed that once Sage Raghavendraswamy had visited this temple and spent some time meditating in this temple.
This Hanuman idol in the temple gets worshipped everyday. On Saturdays, there are special offerings made to Lord Hanuman.
This Lord Hanuman is believed to bestow good fortunes to devotees based on people's experiences. There are facilities to conduct Homas in this temple.
